11 day Tour Itinerary

An overview of your trip

DAY 1 Arrive Seoul (Sunday)

Arrive at Seoul. You will be met by your guide and transferred to the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.

DAY 2 Seoul City Tour

This morning the city tour will include Deoksu Palace and Changdeok Palace. We will pass by The Blue House (Presidential Office) and visit Jogyesa Temple. Explore the bustling South Gate Open Market and the famous Insadong Shopping Street, a great place to pick up arts and craft souvenirs.

DAY 3 Seoul

The morning is free for leisure. In the afternoon we visit the Korean Folk Village, just outside Seoul near Suwon City. Old traditional style houses and the lifestyle of 18th- 19th century are practiced by the village residents wearing ancient costumes. The village is a showcase of Korean traditional folklore customs, manners and ways of life.

DAY 4 Seoul to Gyeongju

Today we visit the North Korean Border. Constructed in 1978, North Korea’s 3rd infiltration Tunnel is located within the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), 44km away from Seoul. From the Dora Observation Platform, on the western front, you can get a view of the North Korean territory including the Propaganda Village, People’s School and Gaeseong City, the old capital city of The Goryeo Kingdom. Transfer to Gyeongju.

DAY 5 Gyeongju to Busan

The richest collection of ancient history and arts in Korea. Gyeongju was once the splendid capital of the Shilla Kingdom (B.C. 57 – A.D. 935). Known as the ‘Museum Without Walls’, the two main treasures are Bulguka Temple and the Seokguram Grotto, they are both UNESCO Historic Sites. The city is filled with remains of temples, the royal tomb, monuments, palaces and fortresses. Enjoy a city tour visiting Cheomseongdae Astronmical Observatory, Gyeongju National Museum, Bulguksa Temple and Seokguram Grotto Temple. Transfer to Busan.

DAY 6 Busan

Busan is the second largest city, with a population of 4 million people. The natural harbour makes it the principal part of the peninsula. Busan has been an important trading centre for fishing and other industries. Enjoy a city tour including visits to Busan Tower, Jagalchi Fish Market, Nampodong Shopping Street, UN Cemetry, Busan Municipal Museum and Busan Haeundae Beach.

DAY 7 Busan to Daegu

After breakfast, transfer to Mt. Gayasan National Park. Visit Haeinsa Temple, home to the world-famous Korean cultural treasure “Tripikata Koreana”, which was carved onto wooden printing blocks in the 13th century, during the Goryeo Kingdom. It is said that this was to protect the country from the invasion of the Mongolian army troops, with the help of Buddha’s power. The Tripitaka Koreana has been designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage. Proceed to Daegu City.

DAY 8 Daegu to Andong and Chungju

After breakfast, proceed to Andong.  Andong is a remarkably well-preserved village with its characterful traditional style houses. In 1999, Queen Elisabeth II visited Hahoe Village and was welcomed with a Birthday Party Table decorated in the Korean traditional way. Hahoe Village in Andong is famous for its unique mask dancing performance. Proceed to Chungju Lake.

DAY 9 Chungju to Mount Seorak

After breakfast, take a leisurely cruise by boat to admire the lakeside scenery at Chiungju Lake. (In the winter time, the cruise will be replaced with a tour around the lake by coach.) Proceed to Mt. Seorak.

DAY 10 Mount Seorak to Seoul

After breakfast, enjoy a tour of Shinheungsa Temple and take the cable car to Gwonkeumseong Fortress.
Return to Seoul stopping en-route at Gangneung City, visiting Chamsori Gramophone and the Audio Museum. This museum boasts an incredible collection of 19th century gramophones and some of the first generation audio sound systems.

DAY 11 Departure

Take a transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
