A bustling capital city

Kuala Lumpur is the capital city of Malaysia. Officially the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, it is also the largest city in the country, spreading over almost 245 sq km. With its modern skyscrapers
dominating the skyline, it is best known for the Petronas Towers, a sleek steel and glass twin structure with an observation deck and public skybridge. In the city, there are also monuments from the British colonial era, such as the railway station and the Sultan Abdul Samad Palace. Other popular sites of interest one should not miss include Chinatown, Petaling Street flea market and the Batu Caves which are more than 400 million years old.

Petronas Towers

Kuala Lumpur's iconic Petronas Towers rise like rockets into the sky. You can enjoy a 45-minute tour taking in the glass Skybridge on the 41st floor, where you can walk between the two towers, and the observation deck on the 86th, with spectacular city views.

Lake Gardens – Tun Abdul Razak Heritage Park

Known locally as the Lake Gardens, this is Kuala Lumpur's largest park, named after the country's second prime minister. The fine botanical garden laid out during the British days remains at the park's heart and is flanked by one of the city's top attractions, the Kuala Lumpur Bird Park. There are lots of other things to see and do here, including visiting the National Planetarium, the Butterfly Park and the striking National Monument.
