Mount Koya is the name of the mountains in Wakayama Prefecture to the south of Osaka. It is the centre of Shingon Buddhism, an important Buddhist sect which was introduced to Japan in 805.

DAY 1 Arrive Mount Koya
Travel by train and cable car from Osaka to Mount Koya via Gokurakubashi, and make your way to your temple lodging for a two night stay with dinner.
