9 day Tour Itinerary
An overview of your trip
DAY 1 UK to Tokyo
Take a scheduled flight from your regional airport to Tokyo.
- Transport: Flight
DAY 2 Arrive Tokyo
Arrive at either Narita or Haneda airports, where you will be welcomed by our representative who will assist you to board an airport bus to transfer to your accommodation. The rest of the day is free at leisure.
DAY 3 Tokyo
Day at leisure with optional tours available to pre-book. Japan’s bustling capital mixes modern with traditional, from neon-lit skyscrapers, to picturesque gardens and historic temples.

DAY 4 Tokyo Morning Tour
Today, you will be collected from your hotel to join a morning tour of Tokyo. Visit Meiji Shrine and the Imperial Palace East Garden (or Imperial Palace Plaza and Double Bridge, Monday, Friday and when the garden is closed) and drive through Asakusa shopping district. Tour ends at Tokyo Station. The rest of the day is free at leisure.

DAY 5 Tokyo to Mount Fuji and Hakone
Your main suitcase will be transferred directly from Tokyo to Kyoto. Please keep an overnight bag with you for the night in Hakone. After breakfast, you will be picked up from your accommodation to join a day tour to Mt. Fuji and Hakone. Visit Mt. Fuji’s 5th station in the morning, and after lunch continue to Owakudani Boiling Valley using the Hakone Ropeway, followed by a cruise on Lake Ashi. After the tour, you will be transferred to your accommodation in Hakone by taxi.

DAY 6 Hakone to Kyoto and Nara Afternoon Walking Tour
After breakfast, make your way to the station by private car for your bullet train to Kyoto, where you will be met by an English speaking assistantl, who will transfer you to your accommodation. In the afternoon, join the tour to Nara, to visit the Todaiji Temple with Great Buddha, and Nara Park, home to over 1,200 wild shika deer. Visitors may feed the deer with Shika-senbei, a special snack for the deer which is available to buy in the park. Continue on to the Kofuku-ji Temple, before returning to Kyoto.

DAY 7 Kyoto Full Day Tour
Today, join a full day tour of Kyoto. Visit the impressive Kiyomizu-dera Temple, for a panoramic view of Kyoto. Continue to Sanjusangendo Temple, a Buddhist temple filled with 1001 statues of Kannon, the Goddess of mercy, and the intriguing Fushimi Inari Shrine with its brightly coloured Torii gates. Next, move on to Arashiyama, and the Tenryu-ji Temple, one of Kyoto’s best Zen temples, and wander through the beautiful landscaped garden. Walk along the enchanting Sagano Bamboo Grove, where the plants tower above both sides of you, forming a picturesque tunnel. The last stop of the day will be at the beautiful Kinkaku-ji Temple (Golden Pavilion), a zen temple where the top two floors are completely covered in gold leaf.

DAY 8 Kyoto
Day at leisure. Home to 17 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Kyoto was the centre of politics for 1,100 years. This culturally rich city has many interesting places to discover including museums, art galleries, shrines and temples. You will also uncover an exciting food culture with a variety of amazing dishes on offer including Sushi, Kaiseki-ryori, tempura and noodles. During your time in Kyoto you may come across a Geisha and Maiko (apprentice Geisha) wearing traditional kimono. Gion, one of the main downtown districts in Kyoto, is where you may catch a sight of them. There is so much to discover and experience in Kyoto so take your time to enjoy this historic and charming city!

DAY 9 Fly to UK
Day at leisure until your transfer to Kansai International Airport by shuttle bus for your flight to your regional UK airport.
