Yunomine Onsen

Japan

Home to the worlds first UNESCO World Heritage Site

Yunomine Onsen is a charming old town set in a valley in the mountains on the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route. Traditionally, pilgrims would travel to Yunomine Onsen to bathe in the hot springs before making their way to the Hongu Grand Shrine. There are many hot spring baths in the town, but Tsubo-yu, was the first hot spring to be registered as a world heritage site.
