Close to the landmark Kongobuji Buddhist temple on Mount Kōya, stands this elegant 13th-century temple with rooms and ornate gardens. Guest rooms feature tatami flooring and traditional short-legged tables, and come with TVs. They have shared or private bathrooms, and some have garden views. Vegetarian breakfast and dinners are included. The temple offers a coffee shop with a covered veranda and views over the gardens. A communal bathhouse offers indoor and open-air baths with hot spring water. There's also a museum.
