15 day Tour Itinerary
An overview of your trip
DAY 1 Fly to Beijing
Fly from London Heathrow or your regional airport to Beijing.
- Transport: Airplane
DAY 2 Arrive Beijing
Upon arrival at the airport in Beijing, your guide will meet and transfer you to your 5* hotel for a three night stay. The remainder of the day is at leisure to relax from your journey or explore the local area.
DAY 3 Beijing City Tour
Following your 5* breakfast, join the full day Beijing City Tour which visits the Temple of Heaven, where the Ming and Qing emperors worshipped the god of heaven and prayed for good harvests for the year. This will be followed by a stroll through Tiananmen Square, the largest square in the world, and a visit to the Forbidden City which served as the grand imperial palace for centuries.

DAY 4 Great Wall
Today, travel to Mutianyu, one of the best preserved parts of the Great Wall and an area with fewer tourists and stunning views. Continue to the Summer Palace, which includes a grand collection of lakes, gardens, palaces and scenic vistas. Afterwards, enjoy a relaxing boat ride on the beautiful Kunming Lake.

DAY 5 Beijing to Xian
There will be an opportunity for photographs at the Birds Nest Stadium and Water Cube, venues for the memorable 2008 Olympics and 2015 World Championships. Continue to the Hutongs for a personal insight into the everyday life of traditional Beijing citizens, before taking a first class bullet train to Xian. On arrival check in at your luxury hotel for a two night stay.

DAY 6 Terracotta Warriors
The Terracotta Warriors is today’s first stop, an amazing collection of 10,000 life size statues of the Chinese army made over 2,000 years ago. This is followed by a visit to Xian’s ancient city wall, the most complete city wall surviving in China, and one of the largest military defensive systems in the world.

DAY 7 Xian to Guilin
Admire the artefacts in the Shaanxi Museum, including treasures from many periods of China’s history. This is followed by the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, and a visit to the vibrant Muslim Quarter. Your private transfer will take you to the airport for your flight to Guilin. On arrival at your luxury hotel, check in for a night before joining the Li River cruise tomorrow.

DAY 8 Li River Cruise to Yangshuo
Following breakfast, enjoy a cruise on the breathtaking Li River to Yangshuo. On arrival at your destination check in at the 5* Yangshuo Resort for an overnight stay. In the evening there is an optional spectacular ‘Impressions of Liu Sanjie’ show staged on the Li River.

DAY 9 Yangshuo to Guilin
Morning free for leisure and relaxation. Take the opportunity to explore this beautiful area independently, or perhaps join an optional cookery class. Later in the afternoon return to Guilin and visit the Reed Flute Caves. In the evening why not enjoy a fascinating Cormorant Fishing Show, bookable locally.

DAY 10 Guilin to Chongqing
Take your seat in first class on the bullet train to Chongqing. Transfer to the quay to board your 5* ship for the start of your cruise along the majestic Yangtze River.

DAY 11 Yangtze River Cruise
Relax while the ship meanders along the Yangtze, allowing you to enjoy the scenic views.

DAY 12 Yangtze River Cruise
Take an excursion to Shibaozhai, with its impressive wooden pagoda, appropriately named “The Pearl of the Yangtze”, and enjoy a journey on a small motorboat through the tranquil Shennong Stream.

DAY 13 Yangtze River Cruise and to Shanghai
Visit The Three Gorges Dam, the world’s largest power station and sail through the Xiling Gorge. Disembark at Yichang and transfer to the train station for your first class bullet train to Shanghai, where you will stay at the 5* Grand Central Hotel.

DAY 14 Shanghai City Tour
Beautiful pavilions at the Yu Yuan Gardens start your day, before moving on to the Jade Buddha Temple, with its large, intricate sculptures of Buddha. After the Shanghai Museum, stroll along the Bund, and end the tour with the breathtaking view from the top of the Shanghai World Financial Centre.

DAY 15 Fly to UK
Transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
