Taiwan is a rare tropical mountain-island, two thirds of which is covered with high mountain ranges rising over 3,000 meters. The most famous of the ranges is found in Alishan National Scenic Area and is a the symbol of this charming island. Sun Moon Lake is another popular attraction and recommend day excursion or overnight stay near the lake. It is an island renowned for its quality cuisine and has a great culinary culture, dishing up tasty food from all over China along with local delicacies. Located in the subtropical ocean, Taiwan offers visitors warm weather throughout most of the year.

Taipei

With Chinese, Japanese and Western influences, the capital of Taiwan has plenty to offer. Taipei National Palace Museum is one of the main historic attractions in the whole of Taiwan, boasting one of the largest collection of priceless Chinese artifacts and artwork in the world. Other places of interest include Taipei 101, Shilin night market and its amazing street food, and Longshang Temple which was built in Taipei in 1738 by settlers from Fujian. This vibrant capital and its subtropical climate is an attractive all-year-round destination.

Sun Moon Lake

Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area is the largest body of water in Taiwan and known for its five major recreational systems, including the lake, Shueili River, Puli, Jhuoshuei River and Jiji. In addition to enjoying the scenery of Sun Moon Lake, you can also appreciate the Thao tribe and their unique legends. Areas of interest around the lake include Shueishe, Meihe Garden, Hanbi Hiking trail, Ita Thao, Ci En Pagoda and Wunwu Temple. An overnight stay at Sun Moon Lake enables you to get the most out of this beautiful and cultural area of Taiwan.

Hualien

Hualien is the gateway to the Taroko National Park, for attractive beaches and a slower pace of life. The Shapodang Recreation Area is a great place for swimming and pool jumping in the crystal clear waters of the Shapodang River. Other places of interest include the stunning Taoko Gorge and Ziqiang Night Market, a popular place to hang out for foodies. From the months of April through to October Dolphin watching tours operate, making it an attractive location to spot a variety of sea life.

This popular hot springs area lies at the foot of the Dawu Mountains, offering a variety of options for relaxation and enjoying the wonders of nature. The hot springs area provides a range of hotels suitable for a variety of budgets and experiences, with many properties overlooking the river and mountain range.
