An overview of your trip
DAY 1 Fly to Hanoi
Take a scheduled flight from the UK to Hanoi.

DAY 2 Arrive Hanoi
Upon arrival in Hanoi, you will be met by your tour guide and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day is at your leisure.

DAY 3 Hanoi City Tour
Experience the rich culture of Hanoi. Spend time at the Temple of Literature, One Pillar Pagoda and the Presidential Palace. Visit the Vietnam History Museum and the Hanoi Opera House. Stroll around the Old Quarter and end the day by watching a performance of a traditional Water Puppet Show.

DAY 4 Halong Bay Cruise
In the morning, journey through the rich farmlands passing workers in the rice fields. Arrive in Halong City and board the traditional wooden junk boat for your overnight journey to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Halong Bay cruising past beautiful rock formations. Visit the Surprise Cave and enjoy swimming or hiking on Titov Island. Optional activities include a cookery class, massage, kayaking and swimming.

DAY 5 Hanoi to Hue
Start the day with Tai Chi on the sundeck before breakfast, then explore the Luon Cave and enjoy a tasty brunch as the boat winds through the limestone rocks. Disembark and take the shuttle bus back to Hanoi, where you will transfer to the airport for your flight to Hue. Upon arrival, you will be met by your local tour guide and transferred to the Hotel.

DAY 6 Hue
Hue was once Vietnam’s imperial capital and today you can expe]rience its historic significance first hand. Cruise along the P erfume River to the Thien Mu Pagoda, visit the Citadel and ornate tombs of former emperors, and experience a local market.

DAY 7 Hue to Hoi An
A three-hour drive takes you through some stunning rural and coastal landscapes, including the dramatic Hai Van Pass to Hoi An. On arrival, check into your hotel. In the afternoon, embark on a short walking tour to explore the city by foot.

DAY 8 Hoi An
Day at leisure to discover the ancient town of Hoi An. Your options include a cooking class or cycle ride to the local beach.

DAY 9 Hoi An to Ho Chi Minh City
This morning is free until your guide and driver transfer you to a local restaurant for lunch. After lunch head to Danang Airport, stopping en route to visit Marble Mountain and the Cham Museum. Fly to Ho Chi Minh City, and check in at your hotel.

DAY 10 Ho Chi Minh City Tour and Cu Chi Tunnels
Experience the very best of Ho Chi Minh on a half day city tour. Soak up the history of Dong Khoi Street on a walking tour and visit the Reunification Palace which was originally built by the French in 1868 and the poignant War Remnants Museum. This afternoon, explore the network of underground tunnels at Cu Chi, on the city’s outskirts

DAY 11 Mekong Delta
Journey through the beautiful countryside of My Tho, on the way to board your boat and sail through scenicmangroves leading into the heart of the Mekong Delta. Cruise along the Mekong River, visit the orchards on the Thoi Son islet and enjoy tropical fruits of the season. Visit a honey-bee farm and a coconut candy workshop, before continuingby row-sampan along the canals. Enjoy lunch, then visit the Vinh Trang Ancient Pagoda. Return to Ho Chi Minh City for the night.

DAY 12 Fly to Siem Reap
Spend the morning at leisure. After lunch, transfer to the airport for your flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, the guide will meet you and take you to the hotel to check in. Afternoon at leisure.

DAY 13 Angkor Temples
Visit the ancient city of Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Great Khmer Empire. Enter the impressive South Gate flanked by stone elephants and giants. In the afternoon visit the famous Angkor Wat – the largest and best preserved temple at the site, and marvel at the spectacular sunset.

DAY 14 Ton Le Sap Lake and to Phnom Penh
In the morning relax on a boat trip to Tonle Sap Lake, Southeast Asia’s largest freshwater lake, to see the villages. Continue to see the Roluos Group Monuments. Visit the workshops of Artisan’s d’Angkor where traditional wood and stone carving techniques are taught. Transfer to the airport for the flight to Phnom Penh.

DAY 15 Phnom Penh
Starting at the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda where 5,000 silver tiles cover the floor, continue to the National Museum built in traditional Khmer style. In the afternoon tour Tuol Sleng Prison and the Killing Fields a reminder of the Khmer Rouge regime giving an insight into how the country has developed.

DAY 16 Fly to Luang Prabang
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Luang Prabang. Upon arrival, the guide will meet you and take you to the hotel.

DAY 17 Luang Prabang City Tour
Following breakfast, your Luang Prabang City Tour starts at the city’s oldest temple, Wat Sene, and the impressive Wat Xiengthong. Cruise along the Mekong to the Pak Ou Caves, passing spectacular views as you go. Explore the caves crammed with thousands of golden Buddha statues. Continue to Ban Xang Khong village, famed for its silk hand weaving and traditional Saa paper making, and the magnificent Stupa of Wat Visoun. Climb to the top of Mount Phousi for panoramic sunset views of the city, the surrounding countryside, and the Mekong Delta.

DAY 18 Khuang Si Falls
Visit the local indigenous Lao villages at Ban Ouay, Hmong Village and Ban Thapene, Khmu Village, then drive to the beautiful Khouang Si Waterfall where you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the turquoise pools, or walk along the shady forest trails. Return to the city by late afternoon to observe the sunset at Wat Prabath.

DAY 19 Fly to UK
Transfer to the airport for your flight back to UK.
