Express Rail Link between Hong Kong & China Now Open!

Exciting News for Rail Travellers!

The Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link, a high-speed train service between Hong Kong and mainland China, has finally opened. After eight years of engineering, the line opened on Sunday 23 September 2018!

Travelling at more than 300 km an hour, the trains provide an alternative to air travel, for commuters between Hong Kong and some of China’s main cities. The new service connects Hong Kong to the China high speed railway network, with direct trains to 44 stations in China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Kunming, Guilin, Guiyang, Wuhan and  Hangzhou, amongst others. The service also operates between Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong, via a 25,000 km railway line, with the journey time between Hong Kong and Guangzhou being just 48 minutes!

Enabling travellers to easily journey to and from Hong Kong, without having to wait around in airports, this is certainly the way forward for a fast and more environmentally-friendly way to travel.
